Items We Accept
Families & Agencies are saying…
“The people you are helping would have ended up having babies with nothing, lots ending up in debt and possibly in some cases having their babies taken away.”
“We’ve had donations given to us before but never on this scale where we feel at ease knowing POPI is there when we need it. The community you’ve built with POPI is really powerful more than you actually realise.”
“Many of the families we support are socially excluded and have financial difficulties. These families find it difficult to purchase at full cost and even struggle to pay for second hand. Your support improves their mental health and well-being and resolves any safety issues within their homes.”
“I was due in March, and by February, I still had no baby things. But like a miracle, along came POPI. Wonderful mothers donated some new and used goods that were still in very good condition – pretty much everything a mother and baby would need. It was overwhelming. You really helped me out through what I can boldly say was the toughest time in my life. I’m still just getting back on my feet but my daughters and I are doing just fine, you were a part of that. Thank you so much.”
“Thank you for the generous donations of a pram and cot for one of the families I am currently working with. Without the stress and cost of these items, they have now been able to purchase the smaller necessary items for the new baby.”
“POPI has had a huge impact on vulnerable children and their families in Bradford. I have been able to access essential items for babies and young children which simply would not have been accessible without POPI.”
“I was in a bit of a bad situation. I had recently left a violent relationship, I had two young children to look after – one of them being a matter of weeks old. I was struggling and didn’t know where I would get a cot from but I came across POPI on Facebook. Samantha was brilliant and organised a beautiful cot but then we had bags of clothing for both my children, nappies and toys for my eldest, safety gates and a play gym for my youngest. I don’t know how I will ever repay them for the kindness they showed me and my children that day and from the bottom of my heart I say thank you again.”

Hampers
As part of our service we provide hampers for new parents containing a selection of items they may need during the first few days of baby’s life. Our hampers are contained within a new washing up bowl and are packed full of love! We also know some very kind ladies who knit us stunning baby blankets for every hamper. To finish off they are wrapped in cellophane and decorated with a big beautiful bow in yellow, pink or blue.
We love making the hampers and the mums are so touched to receive a gift made especially for them. Donations of new baby outfits (up to age 3 months), new comfort toys and small gifts for Mum (e.g. hand cream, chocolate bar, notebook and pen set etc.) are always appreciated.
Pamper Packs
We also provide Pamper Packs to each mum or dad that receives a referral from us. A Pamper Pack is a gift of a few new self-care items. Often it’s hard to find time to look after yourself as a parent, especially in this busy world we live in nowadays. We hope the Pamper Pack reminds parents how important it is to take some time out for themselves. The items are all new and are contained in a white paper bag with a little message inside. If you have any unopened items off the lists to donate please get in touch with us. Donations of unopened shampoo, conditioner, sanitary towels, shower gel, shower scrub or flannel, deodorant, hand cream, lip balm, chocolate bars, hot chocolate sachets are always appreciated.
